Eye Examination Equipment

Constant investment is made by Optometrist and owner Mr. Kirit Patel, so that our patients benefit from the most advanced eye examination. 2007 has been another fruitful year and the practice has purchased the OCT which maps the retinal layers in 3-D, much the same way as the ultra sound. This equipment will help us visualise where in the retina a particular problem has occurred. The most important role of the OCT is in the management of Wet Macular Degeneration as well as Glaucoma

 

This practice has a modern consulting room with the latest eye testing equipment comprising of:

Slit Lamp Microscope - for cornea and contact lens checking

Keratometer - for cornea curvature measurements

Visual Field Analyser - for Glaucoma Field Testing

Calorimeter - for assessment of Visual Stress, e.g. in dyslexia -see also Children's Eye Examinations. Also the Calorimeter can be useful in providing adequate tints for migraine and epileptic sufferers
